New STUDIO GHIBLI Series in U.S. Cinemas for 2018

GKIDS and Fathom Events Present a New Studio Ghibli Series of Animated Masterpieces in U.S. Cinemas throughout 2018. Nine of Studio Ghibli's most treasured films, including several milestone anniversary titles, will be presented at over 700 movie theater locations for "Studio Ghibli Fest 2018".

After a successful series in 2017, GKIDS and Fathom Events continue their collaboration to bring a new line-up of treasured films to U.S. cinemas throughout 2018. The 2018 fest will give fans an opportunity to see nine of the Studio's revered masterpieces on the big screen in cinemas nationwide, along with some very special surprises for attendees only.

This year's series kicks off with the 10th anniversary of the heartwarming family adventure Ponyo, from Academy Award®-winning Hayao Miyazaki. The film will play for three days only on March 25, 26 and 28. The fest then continues with The Cat Returns, Porco Rosso, Pom Poko, Princess Mononoko (the first Miyazaki film I ever saw), the 30th anniversary of Grave of the Fireflies, the 30th anniversary of My Neighbor Totoro, the Oscar winning Spirited Away, and finally, the bewitching Castle in the Sky.

Tickets for Studio Ghibli Fest 2018 can be purchased online by visiting www.ghiblifest.com, www.FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices. Moviegoers throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy these events in over 700 select movie theaters, so you ought to be able to find a participating vendor near you. A complete list of theater locations will be available on the Fathom Events website (theaters and participants are subject to change). Weekday showings begin at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday showings begin at 12:55 p.m. (all local times).

After an incredible response to the Ghibli 2017 series and the over whelming popularity of Mary and The Witch's Flower event earlier this year, Fathom Events enthusiastically teamed up with GKIDS again to bring some of the world's best animation to U.S. theatergoers who might not otherwise get the opportunity to enjoy these amazing works of wonder. Fathom Events CEO Ray Nutt said, "This series provides a special opportunity for fans to experience these beloved titles together on the big screen."

With such amazing artistry, these films can't help but generate wonder, and excitement in the audiences that see them. Although we now live in a world where you can stream just about anything anywhere at any time, I encourage to see these films on the big screen where you and your family can experience the larger than life animation the way in which it was intended. Without a doubt, Studio Ghibli is best experienced in movie theaters, and thanks to Fathom Events you can do just that. Take advantage of this opportunity and treat yourself to an event you'll never forget.
