Fathom Events 2018 TCM Big Screen Classics Lineup

TCM Big Screen Classics Series brings some of Hollywood’s most beloved movies back to the big screen in cinemas nationwide in 2018. Classic Hollywood stars including Humphrey Bogart, Katharine Hepburn, Jimmy Stewart, John Travolta, Bruce Willis and Tom Hanks will appear once more in their most iconic roles directed by such luminaries as Alfred Hitchcock and the Coen Brothers. Audiences will experience sixty years of movie magic in the yearlong cinematic celebration as Fathom Events and Turner Classic Movies present the Big Screen Classics series each and every month throughout the new year.

For the third consecutive year, the “TCM Big Screen Classics” series will present thirteen unforgettable films spanning the 1930s to the 1990s, each accompanied by insightful, specially produced introductory commentary from the hosts at TCM. Audience response to the previous presentations has been "extraordinary" according to Tom Lucas, Fathom Events Vice President of Studio Relations, "As attendance has grown, movie lovers all around the country have told us how much they cherish the opportunity to see these incomparable classics on the big screen. We’re very excited to be partnering with TCM in 2018 to present an incredibly diverse lineup of films that really captures the magic of the movies.”

“This series allows us to bring fans another opportunity to enjoy classic movies on the big screen from a variety of studios and eras, allowing TCM to be the ultimate movie-lover destination,” said Genevieve McGillicuddy, vice president of enterprises and strategic partnerships at TCM. “TCM is thrilled to continue our long-standing relationship with Fathom Events along with our studio partners to bring consumers the TCM Big Screen Classic series.” Tickets for all events in the 2018 series can be purchased online by visiting, or at participating theater box offices. For a complete list of theater locations visit the Fathom Events website as theaters and participants are subject to change.

Here is the month-by-month schedule of the 2018 “TCM Big Screen Classics” series. Each title will be presented just four times, typically on Sundays and Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. local time each day. The Treasure of the Sierra Madre is first up in January, followed by The Philadelphia Story in February. March sees Vertigo back on the screen, with Grease celebrating its return in April. May is the time for Sunset Boulevard, and June brings out The Producers (1967). In July Big will have Tom Hanks sliding across pianos once again, while The Dude will be doing what the Dude does in The Big Lebowski in August. South Pacific will also be playing in August, with Rebel Without a Cause emerging in September. Come October Mr. Smith Goes to Washington graces theaters, Die Hard ushers in the holidays, and holiday standby, White Christmas finishes out the year.

More good news! Each film will play in its original aspect ratio with insightful, specially produced pre- and post-film commentary by TCM hosts. Don't miss these great opportunities to watch each one of these classics the way they were meant to be seen - on the big screen. I hope you take advantage of at least a few dates. The cultural experience will be well worth the price of admission.
